Yoko Duo - Close These Curtains (Stimming Remix)

Today I would like to rather share a remix done by Stimming. It is quite unusual sharing remixes on calgiligurme but I guess we will start to do it more often upcoming days.

“I´m neither afraid of showing my emotions nor afraid to include them in my music.”
That is what Stimming says about emotions and music on his personal website.

Strimming, or "Martin Stimming", is a German dj whose remixes often tends to be remarkably melodic and deep. He is known for blending this melodic style with german minimal house groves. Here below you can try one of my favourite remixes of him; Close These Curtains (Stimming Remix).

If you want to keep yourself updated; his soundcloud is often very up to date:

You know how the life is; suddenly you have find yourself in another moment and time and you priorities are completely changed. But after long long time publishing nothing, here we are again. Hope you miss us :)

Van She - You're My Rescue

Van She invite you to enjoy their 2nd record, their Idea Of Happiness. So uplifting it’s practically levitational, Idea Of Happiness is Van She’s most focused, joyous musical excursion to date.

An album stirred by sunbaked travels and fleeting truths, and shaken with the sands of time, Idea Of Happiness was recorded, engineered and produced by the band themselves in Kings Cross, Sydney. Their self-sufficient approach to the record allowed them the time and space to not only fine tune to the nth degree each cymbal splash and crashing wave sample, but also left them free to give ideas the time and space to hang loose. They may have walked a slow, deliberate path to realising album #2 but the result is all the better for it.

The record was mixed in Los Angeles with Tony Hoffer, the perfect man for the job with a resume that includes work with Beck, Air, Phoenix and M83.

Fluid tropical rhythms saturated in slinky synth bass and the atmosphere from mid summer night dreams. Club (Med) ready coconut funk, mojito pop, prom night slow jams. Catamaran rock, whimsical Fleetwood Mac rips, and unapologetic love songs. This is Van She’s Idea Of Happiness. It’s relaxed but precisely sharp, savvy but not up tight, extremely open and sincere but always on the right side of cringe-worthy. Above all Idea Of Happiness is fun and from the heart, just like it should be.

Voltaire Twins - Solaris

'With their dancey beats and fun melodies, this brother-sister team manages to stand apart from the rest of the indie-electronic music crowd.'

Eight and a Half - Scissors

Eight and a Half is the Canadian dream pop collaboration project of Justin Peroff of Broken Social Scene, and Dave Hamelin and Liam O’Neil of The Stills. I don’t know how it ended up sounding like this, but I’m glad it did.

“Scissors” is the first track released off of Eight and a Half’s debut self-titled release, released on February 7, 2012. The video that follows, is set somewhere in some kind of ivy-torn forest, that looks awfully familiar to Georgia’s Kudzu ridden landscape. The video follows a dozens as they run carelessly through the forest.

So, be sure to check out the video for Eight and a Half’s debut single “Scissors” off of their self-titled release, and if you read more you’ll be treated to 2 remixes of “Scissors” by remix champions, Small Black and TOKiMONSTA.

Prince Of Tennis - Mind Readers

A nice lo-fi electropop song from Prince of Tennis.

The Moth and The Mirror - Germany

The Moth & the Mirror are five and a half people most of the time: guitarists Gordon Skene, Louis Abbott, drummer Pete Murch , bassist Kevin ‘Crash’ McCarvel, percussionist Iain Sandilands, and vocalist Stacey Sievwright.

The band began as a fateful germination in the brain of that chanteuse early in the century, late in the afternoon of one typical day (Tiusday or Wodensday, can’t remember) when she jumped from a too-high rock into a river that was not deep. Fluids became crystalline. There were rubies and diamonds. Tiny electric explosions flared in the neurological region and then and then and then…

Rocket Empire - Cruising The Galaxy

Rocket Empire is a new signing to OM Records, and Dave Dish is the sole member of the group. Their debut album "Through The Weekend" can be heard on Om Records. Jon Cates continues to work with Dave Dish on Rocket Empire material along with Casey Montgomery, who is also known as "the eloi". Rocket Empire is a fusion of indie acoustic based rock, and down tempo that is on the level with Kruder&Dorfmeister for fans of the lush, stringy spacey vibes. Rocket Empire has already has good success with 2 singles released from the forthcoming debut album which will feature 16 tracks.

Chromatics - Lady

Chromatics are a band from Portland, Oregon, whose lineup features singer Ruth Radelet, guitarist Adam Miller, drummer Nat Walker, and producer/multi-instrumentalist Johnny Jewel. The band originally featured a trademark sound indebted to punk and lo-fi and described as "noisy" and "chaotic". After numerous lineup changes, which left guitarist Adam Miller as the sole original member, the band signed to the Italians Do It Better record label and pursued an Italo Disco sound.
“Lady” is the third single from the upcoming Chromatics album, Kill For Love.

M83 - Midnight City

They were one of the most popular indie/electronic act of the last quarter of 2011. And the fame was brought by an awesome song called Midnight City.

M83 is a musical act by French musician Anthony Gonzalez. It is named after a spiral galaxy, Messier 83. The band was founded in 2001 by Gonzalez and former member Nicolas Fromageau in Antibes, France. The musical style of M83 owes something to the shoegazing genre in its extensive use of reverb effects and lyrics spoken softly over loud instrumentals, although M83's songs employ considerably less guitar than most shoegazing bands.

Tying Tiffany - Drownin'

Tying Tiffany was born in Padua. At the beginning she has travelled Europe as bass player and singer in various indie rock bands and she has acted in some independent movies, artistic films and theatrical performances.
In 2005 she decides to share an electronic music project including her song You Know Me in the Full Body Workout vol. 2 compilation for the Berlin based label Get Physical. Her debut album Undercover, released in 2005, is a work that moves from her passion for industrial, dark and punk music and her Disc jockey EBM experience. Undercover is acclaimed by international press, media and public and becomes one of the Italian music cases of 2006.
Her last album, “Dark Days, White Nights” , Tying Tiffany is released in February 2012. “Drownin’”, album's first single taken from the album, had a prestigious premiere in October 2011, with its inclusion on the soundtrack of the latest edition of the highly popular game for PC and Console from Electronic Arts FIFA 12 .

Superhumanoids - Geri

Superhumanoids is four-piece band which is originated from Los Angeles. They deal with dreamy pop that shouts summery '60s harmonies, garage rock's raw tonality, slick new-wave electronics, and the adventurous dissonance of '90s indie rock. The band equally focused on propulsive live performances and glimmery productions for private listening.

What is interesting that you are free to download the song from the link here.

Non Tiq - Quiet

Non Tiq, alias Nora Lindqvist, grew up in a musical family in a small town in the northern part of Sweden. 2008 she met the producer Karol Machata in Stockholm. He shared her vision and they begun recording songs together.
Non Tiq’s melodies are captivating with lyrics colored by relational dilemmas and personal darkness. The music has a razor-sharp clarity, and is often melancholic but yet danceable.

"Music is a weapon. A weapon against the darkness inside of me but also against the loneliness of being a human. Music turns the most boring days into ecstasy trips.
What am I fighting for?
I’m fighting to develop.
All this noise, all these people.
He who makes up your mind is the one who doesn’t care if he does. Change. Think in your own way. That is and will always be the right way.
The bad is the good is the bad." *Non Tiq

Grimes - Genesis

Boucher aka Grimes does indeed make music worthy of inclusion alongside the wondrous Nite Jewel and Sleep Over in that it is mysterious and allusive, ethereal and electronic, sometimes harsh and textured and tough, but always supremely accessible even at its most atonal. The songs on her 2010 Geidi Primes album often cram four, maybe five, ideas into one track, but her ghostly vocals add a pop patina just as things get jagged. Venus in Fleurs is like Julee Cruise on Mogadon, Dragvandil is Diamanda Galas goes dubstep, and Swan Song recalls Cranes, and you should recall Cranes at least once a year because they were startling and sublime, as is Grime

Good news is that it is possible to download a free copy of the on Soundcloud. Click here to download.
