Van She invite you to enjoy their 2nd record, their Idea Of Happiness.
So uplifting it’s practically levitational, Idea Of Happiness is Van
She’s most focused, joyous musical excursion to date.

An album stirred by sunbaked travels and fleeting truths, and shaken
with the sands of time, Idea Of Happiness was recorded, engineered and
produced by the band themselves in Kings Cross, Sydney. Their
self-sufficient approach to the record allowed them the time and space
to not only fine tune to the nth degree each cymbal splash and crashing
wave sample, but also left them free to give ideas the time and space to
hang loose. They may have walked a slow, deliberate path to realising
album #2 but the result is all the better for it.

The record was mixed in Los Angeles with Tony Hoffer, the perfect man
for the job with a resume that includes work with Beck, Air, Phoenix and
M83.

Fluid tropical rhythms saturated in slinky synth bass and the atmosphere
from mid summer night dreams. Club (Med) ready coconut funk, mojito
pop, prom night slow jams. Catamaran rock, whimsical Fleetwood Mac rips,
and unapologetic love songs. This is Van She’s Idea Of Happiness. It’s
relaxed but precisely sharp, savvy but not up tight, extremely open and
sincere but always on the right side of cringe-worthy. Above all Idea Of
Happiness is fun and from the heart, just like it should be.
Eight and a Half is the Canadian dream pop collaboration project of Justin Peroff of Broken Social Scene, and Dave Hamelin and Liam O’Neil of The Stills. I don’t know how it ended up sounding like this, but I’m glad it did.

“Scissors” is the first track released off of Eight and a Half’s debut self-titled release, released on February 7, 2012. The video that follows, is set somewhere in some kind of ivy-torn forest, that looks awfully familiar to Georgia’s Kudzu ridden landscape. The video follows a dozens as they run carelessly through the forest.

So, be sure to check out the video for Eight and a Half’s debut single “Scissors” off of their self-titled release, and if you read more you’ll be treated to 2 remixes of “Scissors” by remix champions, Small Black and TOKiMONSTA.

The band began as a fateful germination in the brain of that chanteuse early in the century, late in the afternoon of one typical day (Tiusday or Wodensday, can’t remember) when she jumped from a too-high rock into a river that was not deep. Fluids became crystalline. There were rubies and diamonds. Tiny electric explosions flared in the neurological region and then and then and then…
Rocket Empire is a new signing to OM Records, and Dave Dish is the sole member of the group. Their debut album "Through The Weekend" can be heard on Om Records. Jon Cates continues to work with Dave Dish on Rocket Empire material along with Casey Montgomery, who is also known as "the eloi". Rocket Empire is a fusion of indie acoustic based rock, and down tempo that is on the level with Kruder&Dorfmeister for fans of the lush, stringy spacey vibes. Rocket Empire has already has good success with 2 singles released from the forthcoming debut album which will feature 16 tracks.

Chromatics are a band from Portland, Oregon, whose lineup features singer Ruth Radelet, guitarist Adam Miller, drummer Nat Walker, and producer/multi-instrumentalist Johnny Jewel. The band originally featured a trademark sound indebted to punk and lo-fi and described as "noisy" and "chaotic". After numerous lineup changes, which left guitarist Adam Miller as the sole original member, the band signed to the Italians Do It Better record label and pursued an Italo Disco sound.
They were one of the most popular indie/electronic act of the last quarter of 2011. And the fame was brought by an awesome song called Midnight City.

M83 is a musical act by French musician Anthony Gonzalez. It is named after a spiral galaxy, Messier 83. The band was founded in 2001 by Gonzalez and former member Nicolas Fromageau in Antibes, France. The musical style of M83 owes something to the shoegazing genre in its extensive use of reverb effects and lyrics spoken softly over loud instrumentals, although M83's songs employ considerably less guitar than most shoegazing bands.
Tying Tiffany was born in Padua. At the beginning she has travelled Europe as bass player and singer in various indie rock bands and she has acted in some independent movies, artistic films and theatrical performances.
In 2005 she decides to share an electronic music project including her song You Know Me in the Full Body Workout vol. 2 compilation for the Berlin based label Get Physical. Her debut album Undercover, released in 2005, is a work that moves from her passion for industrial, dark and punk music and her Disc jockey EBM experience. Undercover is acclaimed by international press, media and public and becomes one of the Italian music cases of 2006.
Her last album, “Dark Days, White Nights” , Tying Tiffany is released in February 2012. “Drownin’”, album's first single taken from the album, had a prestigious premiere in October 2011, with its inclusion on the soundtrack of the latest edition of the highly popular game for PC and Console from Electronic Arts FIFA 12 .

Superhumanoids is four-piece band which is originated from Los Angeles. They deal with dreamy pop that shouts summery '60s harmonies, garage rock's raw tonality, slick new-wave electronics, and the adventurous dissonance of '90s indie rock. The band equally focused on propulsive live performances and glimmery productions for private listening.
He shared her vision and they begun recording songs together.
Non Tiq’s melodies are captivating with lyrics colored by relational dilemmas and personal darkness. The music has a razor-sharp clarity, and is often melancholic but yet danceable.
"Music is a weapon. A weapon against the darkness inside of me but also against the loneliness of being a human. Music turns the most boring days into ecstasy trips.
I’m fighting to develop.
All this noise, all these people.
The songs on her 2010 Geidi Primes album often cram four, maybe five, ideas into one track, but her ghostly vocals add a pop patina just as things get jagged. Venus in Fleurs is like Julee Cruise on Mogadon, Dragvandil is Diamanda Galas goes dubstep, and Swan Song recalls Cranes, and you should recall Cranes at least once a year because they were startling and sublime, as is Grime
Dark Captain (formerly - Dark Captain Light Captain) are a five-piece rock group from East London. They are comprised of Dan Carney (guitar, vocals), Giles Littleford (guitar, vocals), Chin Keeler (drums) , Laura Copsey (brass, electronics, vocals) and Michael Cranny (bass, vocals). Their music is influenced by atmospheres, the quest for a killer vocal harmony and a constant desire to make their hearts beat ever so slightly faster than normal.

The sentiment of their songs, which they write about things they feel very strongly about, ranges from malignant and accusatory to wildly optimistic, and they have been compared to Kings Of Convenience, The Beta Band, Elliot Smith, The Violent Femmes and even The Pogues. Outside the band their hobbies include art, fatherhood, reading, writing and walking.
But I guess not everybody does Guillemots. Well, if you like Coldplay, better you should hear this band's sound.
Guillemots is a BRIT Award nominated indie rock band formed in November 2004 by Fyfe Dangerfield. The band consists of 4 members: Fyfe Dangerfield, MC Lord Magrão, Aristazabal Hawkes & Greig Stewart. Although formed in Birmingham and now based in London, the band's members have been compiled from England, Scotland, Brazil and Canada.
Walk The River is one of my favourite songs from their third record Walk the River released on April 18, 2011. Enjoy!
Choosing the song to share was a hard decision although it was only one album! By the way, I want to share my opinion about those artists who have published a dozens of albums every year! I can't really respect them. I believe that it won't matter when an artist has published that amount of albums as somebody at somewhere would definitely find at least one perfect song for him/her to love. Anyway, let's come to subject! About AaRON, it is a french electronic pop band who sings in French and but mostly in English. What makes them notable among the maze of indie/alternative are impressive keyboard synths going along with the "soft cracked" male vocal. Band's last album is a kind of album which does not contain literally "rubbish songs" that you just click "next" as soon as it starts.

Here are two songs that I've chosen for you, if you feel depressed; you can (which is likely if you are reading this post now in the Saturday night :) ) start with the first one and, if you feel alive you could skip to the the other one.

Bon appetit.
After all, they have been one of the leading representatives of its genre for almost twenty years in Europe and has always nonchalantly succeeded in reinventing itself during that time. The band's reputation also their attitude on exploring the limitations of its full potential and filling the much-abused term of "crossover" with exciting new contents.
I hope you like one of my favourite song which they released recently(!). Enjoy!
Ohh wait, or I was like that until lately. This tiny European country has started to introduce some quite interesting mainstream synth-pop bands/duos, thereby, Villa Nah is one of them.

Juho and Tomi are childhood friends who grew up in the suburbs of east Helsinki; the name of the band (Villa Noh) comes up from a place in there. Tomi states Sonic Youth and Underworld have influenced him mostly while Juho offers David Bowie and Yellow Magic Orchestra. Villa Nah compose on vintage synths as the stage is a tangle of leads and gear. On the strength of their shows, they hooked up with Keys of Life, a sub-label of the great Sähkö Recordings, home to Mika Vainio’s Ø project and Jimi Tenor. Since then, Finland’s acid-house guru Jori Hulkkonen has helped produce their music, and remixed current single “Rainmaker”. Villa Nah also appear on Jori’s recent Man From Earth album, an astonishing record which should not be overlooked.

Here under you can listen both the original and the live version of their brilliant track Running On. Enjoy!
If I were asked to define this magical girls band's sound,my definition would be seductive. Their music is like an addictive poison; once you taste it, you never know what it does to you but you don't care as long as you were drugged with their songs.

In my opinion, together with Lykke Li, Warpaint invented all new level of girl singer/band fashion on the stage.
You can find more information about the band in our older posts, however, if you need to hear some magical music combined with beautiful voices , have a listen to their mystical music video. Enjoy!
I don't think it is necessary to introduce The Knife. It would be like introducing Newton to a group of physicists, wouldn't it? The answer would be yeah if you hadn't seen the face of Newton, if he had rejected all public appearances, if he had been portrayed with a mask on his face, if his name was not Newton, indeed.. The strange thing about The Knife is they are strictly against public appearances. Until recently, they refused to perform live concerts. Now one can see two people wearing bird's beaks on stage and impetuously recognize the sound of The Knife.

It would be shameful if someone searches The Knife and cannot find here, so here I share the song that I like the most from The Knife. Didn't you also taste some Antony Hegarty when you listen to this?
Their sound is well mix of electro-pop and indie-dance. According to band's member Popidiot's sound is heavily influenced by synthpop classics like New Order, Human League or Depeche Mode in a way similar to contemporary electropop acts like Hot Chip, Cut Copy or Regina. Our followers could have remembered finnish synth-pop band Regina from our older posts. Anyway, I think it is a good song to get rid of stifling atmosphere of Monday. Enjoy!

biskuwihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15408487553344720055noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5979310021072542530.post-45002225364180520652012-01-07T13:09:00.004+01:002012-01-07T22:53:32.029+01:00Voltaire Twins - Animalia
Voltaire Twins is an Australian synth-pop/indie/new-wave band from Perth, Western Australia. They are basically consisting of two twins however, on the show they are accompanied by a third synthesiser player and a drummer.

I should stress that Voltaire Twins is one of the most remarkable indie band that I've listened recently. Both the live performances and the albums of the band is awesome. They will probably be very popular in upcoming days.

I also suggest you to see their live performance. The colours, the atmosphere, the lights, the customs and the spirit... Seems everything is legit and perfectly balanced. I do really hope to see the band around around and to get their show.

biskuwihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15408487553344720055noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5979310021072542530.post-31681354901505845382012-01-07T00:48:00.007+01:002012-01-07T01:06:08.809+01:00Marsheaux - So far

MARSHEAUX are a female electro pop duo from Thessaloniki (Greece). The two girls moved in Athens on 2000 and on 2003 they made MARSHEAUX in order to express their love for the electropop of the 80's and the sounds of synthesizers and drum machines. The problem of naming the band was easily solved by combining the first syllables of their names, Marianthi and Sophie. Their first release was a cover of the classic hot butter's Popcorn with a great success in Greece. They make synthpop music in the tradition that Yazoo, Human League, Depeche Mode and OMD did.

biskuwihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15408487553344720055noreply@blogger.com0
